Factors Affecting Transcription Time
Speed of speech is one of the most important factors that affects the length of time it takes us, because if people are speaking very slowly, we will have less words to type per hour of audio time. An equally important factor is the quality of the recorder. Other factors include the quality of the phone connection (if it's a conference call), whether people are close enough to the mic, background noise, mumbling, whispering, eating, foreign accents and whether or not there's a lot of industry-specific terminology that we'll need to look up in order to create an accurate transcript.
